Spring 2014 Contributions

As part of the Low-Flow Stacked Rapid Sand Filtration (LFSRSF) team, I am helping to optimize AguaClara LFSRSF technology. This semester, our focus is on designing an efficient sand drain, simplifying the filter's control system and improving flow distribution inside the filter. In the process, we will complete fabrication of the existing 30-cm LFSRSF by adding slotted manifolds to the filter as well as pipe stubs to the inlet and outlet tanks, and by building a water-recycling system so that the filter can be run and tested continuously.
