Dan Simpkins is an experienced entrepreneur who previously founded and
led two successful startup companies: SALIX Technologies and Hillcrest
Labs. Simpkins recently founded and is now CEO of Domusys, Inc. a telecommunications pioneer;and Hillcrest Labs, a consumer electronics innovatornew
IoT technology startup focused on helping consumers manage and maintain
their largest asset, their home. Having sold Hillcrest in 2016, Hillcrest is now
part of CEVA, a leading DSP/AI technology company. As CEO of Hillcrest Labs,
which he founded in 2001, Simpkins has guided the company to introduce groundbreaking user experiences
for television , and to develop developed exceptional expertise in motion sensors. Before
founding Hillcrest, he led SALIX Technologies forover a decade, managing Simpkins founded and led telecommunications pioneer
SALIX Technologies. Simpkins managed the company from its inception to its it
becoming a leader in VoIP , and then to its acquisition by Tellabs, Inc. for $300 million. Simpkins is
is both a business and technical leader: he teaches, writes about , and speaks about
about entrepreneurship , and he holds 19 over 20 U.S. patents in the fields of interactivetelevision and telecommunications. In addition to his business
activities, he is a member of the board and Executive Committee of the Charles E. Smith JewishDay School, a member of the Board of Trustees of of trustees of his synagogue, Kol Shalom,
and a member of the administrative board of the Cornell University Engineering College Council.
