As a user at CNF, in addition to your AFS fileserver and CNF Thin login accounts, you have a Windows login account – either a Cornell NetID or a Cornell GuestID. With your Window login, you have access to CNF printers, your AFS filespace, programs installed on the CNF Windows computers, and a roaming Windows profile.

Because Windows downloads and then saves the whole Windows profile at logon and logoff time, large profiles can take a long time to transfer over the network. Hence, CNF has limited the size of the Windows profile to 200MB. If you exceed this profile size, Windows will notify you that you will be unable to logoff until you either delete some data or move some data out of your Windows profile to another location. Other locations include burning a CD/DVD, using a USB flash drive, or someplace in AFS.
