CUL’s physical materials collections comprises of almost 10 million items; which are often grouped into formats such as books, serials, visual materials, etc., for purposes of reporting counts for internal as well as external use. The CUL Folio Physical Material Bib Format Display table shows material formats based on MARC codes, and is the suggested format table for CUL use when providing material counts by format. Material formats by MARC code as contained in this table have been carefully reviewed and agreed upon by CUL cataloging subject matter experts as well as by area experts.
