The AguaClara plant in Jesús de Otoro, Intibucá treats 20 L/s for a community of roughly 5,000 people. It was financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (COSUDE) and the municipality. Construction ran from March to November, 2014, and the plant was inaugurated January 21, 2015.










Below are AguaClara Engineers Walker Grimshaw (back right) and Jon Christensen (fourth from left) and worked with APP Technician Antonio Elvir (second from left) with to train plant operator candidates and water board representatives outside of the plant at the end of constructionfor four months in late 2014. Jesús de Otoro actually has three drinking water treatment systems administrated by three distinct water boards. The AguaClara plant is administrated by JABASCO, the water board for the Santa Cruz neighborhood. This neighborhood is largely residential and includes roughly 800 households. They will be installing water meters in their network throughout 2015.
