    • Debug or assist in debugging Linux-based issues.
    • Set up test Linux-based technologies to showcase to full-time staff what is possible, and to accelerate our evaluation process of promising technologies.
      The expectation is not that a candidate knows a given technology (see current ideas) but that he or she can learn them quickly based on a solid existing foundation of Linux OS knowledge and experience.
      • Deploy a test instances of a new technology and play with (ahem, test) capabilities to characterize trade-offs and allow for effective evaluation by ChemIT staff.
      • Transfer knowledge to ChemIT staff.
      • Document as appropriate to facilitate transfer of technology into production, if technology to be used that way.

You must be able to work two 3-hour blocks during normal working hours (M-F, 9a-5p) when classes are in session.

We prefer someone who can work full-time M-F, 9a-5p hours during most of the summer.

  • Depending on applicants, half-time may be acceptable.

Work can continue into the fall semesteris available over the winter break, but is not required.
