We can check if the blades in our setup deflect or not. Select Blade 1 Deflections in Data Group. Select Blade 1 x-deflection for Variables. Select Time for Independent Variables.

Discussion

It may seem odd that the wind turbine generates the same amount of power with and without blade deflection. It is not generally true that a stiffer blade will always produce more power. For example, as a certain amount of blade deflection is expected in normal operation, we find that some blades are optimised for peak aerodynamic efficiency in their deflected stateFrom the graph, we see our setup does not yield any blade deflection.
