Reflection Report #3: The team modified the experimental set-up so that experiments could be conducted on both a submerged pipe and a pipe suspended in the air. Flow collection and dye test experiments proved that horizontal velocity and pressure recovery were indeed significant problems in the current inlet manifold design. Hence, our team is now researching for ways to solve these problems.
Teach in On November 2nd, our team presented our Teach In to the Agua Clara class. Our presentation presented our original problem, pressure recovery, and introduced our new problem of horizontal flow. We discussed our revised hypotheses, our designs and models, and the experiments and results we have obtained thus far. Our presentation finished with a discussion of our future challenges and ideas for new designs for the Inlet Manifold.
