Since the midterm, I have been mainly working on debugging the AutoCAD programs so that the Design Tool could come online. The focus of this task was to automate the drawing of the sedimentation tank. I was responsible for writing the code to draw and insert the inlet manifold slopes as well as the frame ledge for the lamella. Note: these AutoCAD pages need to be updated this Summer
During this process, the need for various MathCAD scripts that correspond to AutoCAD commands arose. I added several new functions in the MtoATranslators program that did this.
I also organized the hierarchy of the MathCAD programs so that now it is easy to debug single programs. It is only necessary to reference the MasterProgram, which now references all of the other programs. This step was necessary in order to prevent over referencing in other programs and slowing down the time it takes to load a program.
I was also responsible for keeping the sheets at the bottom of the Variable Naming Guide up to date so that they correctly displayed the inputs and outputs of each program.
On the wiki, I updated the pages for the inlet channel and exit channel, as well as the user inputs.
This last part of the semester, I have spent mostly testing different plant sizes and various sedimentation tanks, and then debugging as issues arise. Because the sedimentation tanks can now have variations of single or multiple tanks and/or bays, I have been working on how to array different combinations of sedimentation tanks so that the plants may scale up or down depending on the flow rate.
