Save

 

This button saves the current item or adds a new item to the system.

Fulfillment

 

This menu option contains sub-items used to fulfill the item. (see figure 5.2)

 

 Z39.50 Search

The Z39.50 Search allows you to search the CUL catalog remotely through Ares and import an item's call number, current location and status.

 

Find On Shelf

This option places the item in the Awaiting Stacks Searching queue so that a pull slip may be generated later.

 

Route To Acq.

This option will place the item in the Awaiting Acquisitions Fulfillment queue; depending on the system settings it will either send an e-mail and/or generate a printed request.

 

Recall Item

This option places the item in the Awaiting Recall Processing queue so that a recall processing slip may be generated later.

 

Scan Item

This option will open the scanning dialog in Ares and allow you to scan in a print item and upload it to the server

 

Upload File

This option will open a upload file dialog so you can add an already digitized item on the server and link it to the current item.

 

Available At Desk

This option marks the item as available at the Pickup Site, reserve desk, indicated in the General Information area.

 Find On Shelf

 

The Find On Shelf button is a dual function button. If you click the main body of the button it will place the current item in the Awaiting Stacks Searching queue for your processing location. If you click on the downward arrow on the right of the main button you are given a choice of other processing location's where the item may be found.

Route To Acq.

 

This option will place the item in the Awaiting Acquisitions Fulfillment queue; depending on the system settings it will either send an e-mail and/or generate a printed request.

Recall

 

This option places the item in the Awaiting Recall Processing queue so that a recall processing slip may be generated later.

Cancel

 

This option will cancel the current item and open the Item Cancellation window (Figure 19.1) where a cancellation reason may be chosen. Please see chapter 19 Canceling Requests for more details on canceling requests.

Clone

 

This will open the Clone Item window (Figure 3.2) and allow you to clone the current item to the same course or to another course. Please see section 14.2.2 Copy Items into a New Class for details on cloning items.

Change Status

 

This option will provide you with a drop down menu of all the available queues allowing you to manually move the current item into another queue for processing.

Auto Save

 

The auto save feature, when enabled, will automatically save any changes made to an item's record when that item is closed. The default for Auto Save is disabled, meaning that the Save Item button must be pressed in order to write any changes made to the system
