Spring 2009's Contributions

During the Spring 2009 semester, I have worked with the pilot plant team on re-designing the hydraulic flocculator. I have worked on brainstorming and testing various ideas for new designs for the flocculator baffles. The existing baffles were fixed in place, we wanted baffles that could be continuously adjusted so we could easily vary the spacing for our experiments.

I also helped take apart the old baffles and build our new baffle system. I have been involved in preparing the pilot plant to get up and running again (replace clogged tubing, clean and calibrate turbidimeters, clean out flocculation tanks)So far I have taken CEE 454 and gone to Honduras. I am just starting to get to the stage of contributing to the project.
