Traffic is a major source of both air and noise pollution in urban areas. Although solutions to mitigate each type of pollution have been developed separately, an integrated, and potentially more effective, approach to address both types of pollution synergistically is lacking. EERL has developed high-fidelity simulation capabilities for air pollution dispersion and noise propagation. We are looking for highly motivated students to apply those simulation tools to identify optimal roadway designs to mitigate air and noise pollution.
