Hi Xxxx. Our initial LAMP hosting service offering was designed as a entry level service. We wanted to keep the costs down so we could offer the service to campus at no charge. One way we've been able to do that is to eliminate overhead in the form of maintenance an upkeep. Different customers are interested in different extensions, it became clear that we couldn't manage it all with available staff and resources. We've made a decision to not provide custom extensions beyond what is there in the basic service for the time being.
We have gotten feedback in the form or focus groups and other efforts regarding what people would like to see in the next phase of a hosted LAMP service. We have ideas for future enhancements that we'd like to implement to improve the system for our customers. Unfortunately given the current climate, resources are being directed to other projects. Any enhancements to the current LAMP service will probably not happen this calendar year.
