Connecting on a Mac

You can connect to your site as a remote folder on your Mac. Once set up, you will be able to open the remote folder on your computer and drag and drop files back and forth right through the folder without any additional software.

To set this up, you will need a NetID and a special URL to your site. To obtain this special URL, you will need to contact our office or for LAMP and CF9 environments you can visit your site's splash page.

On your Mac:

  1. In the Mac Finder go to the Go menu
  2. Select Connect to Server
  3. Enter the URL you recieved via email as the server address
  4. You will be prompted to enter your username and password, use your NetID for the username and and the DAV session key for the password. (LAMP/CF9 customers: See the splash page for your account for information on how to get a DAV session key.)
  5. To open the site, simply open the server icon which will be located on your desktop.
  6. Use the Eject command to disconnect from the server when you are finished.
  7. Before disconnecting, you may wish to create an alias of the server icon for this connection. Connecting through the alias will allow you to skip the first 3 steps of the instructions the next time you connect to your site.
