Hello! My name is Lua Lawrence and I recently relocated to Syracuse from near Schenectady, NY. I grew up in Scotia, NY, leaving for 5 years to attend Northeastern University in Boston to get my bachelors in Physics. When I returned I taught physics at Mohonsen High School in Rotterdam, NY while getting my masters in education at SUNY Albany. This past September my husband’s job brought me to Syracuse, so I have been exploring a new city and a new job. This fall I look for ward to teaching physics at Jamesville-DeWitt High School.

When I am not teaching I am trying to learn my way around Syracuse. I love trying new things and have recently taken up salsa dancing and joined a community choir. It has been an eventful year and I look forward to an exciting progam at Cornell. My mother grew up outside Ithaca and I have been visiting since I was literally a week old. I can’t think of a better place to spend the summer!
