2021 Jan 11 meeting with Pam Stansbury

We think Inventory: All Permissions is the chief permission needed for both the original and copy catalogers; Laura Daniels agrees that this is probably OK and not too broad.  Staff will have access to Fast Add, which they probably don't need.

Cataloging/Authority work is done in OCLC; we're waiting on a tool to import OCLC records into FOLIO. Copy catalogers don't do any Authority work.  E-records mostly come from OCLC and are processed similarly to print.

Laura Daniels suggests: I'd add also Settings (Inventory): Display list of settings pages, Tags on records: View only; Orders: View order lines; Orders: View orders; Receiving: View

Cataloger

FOLIO equivalent of Voyager's ABHI del and ABHI del BHI.  (ABHI del means "able to delete ABHI", but there's no A - Authority - in FOLIO.  So these two sets would be handled the same in FOLIO.)

1/27/23 Added the permission Data Import: can view only as per request; Jenn Colt.

Inventory In Process

AB 8/11/21 The only In Process choice is Nonrequestable.  Jean Pajerek feels we have need of the below hidden permission in order to manage some FOLIO workarounds.  It's already in the Cataloger set, but there are non-cataloger staff who need it.

  • Inventory - mark an item as in process

Inventory InstHI del HI

Full permissions for holdings and items, all instance permissions except delete (because there IS no delete in Iris).  Voyager also has some sets beginning with ABHI; but there's no Authority work in FOLIO.  There are also Voyager sets with del BHI; but FOLIO does not allow Instance records to be deleted.
