Stanford gave a demo changes to their latest changes. The highlights of that are...
- Stanford now has >100 exhibits.
- Exhibits and exhibit items are integrated into their catalog with a MARC record for each. This allows the exhibits and items to be discovered through Search Works which is their front end UI for their catalog discovery.
- When an exhibit is in the results and the user views the page for the exhibit in the catalog, they see images from the exhibit for an exhibit result. There is also a box with links to this exhibit and other exhibits that share items with this exhibit.
- When an exhibit item is in the results and the user views the page for the item in the catalog, the item thumbnail for exhibit item is displayed. There is a box with links to each exhibit that has this item.
- Accessibility improvements that brought their accessibility score into the 90s. Catherine Aster at Stanford will provide more specifics on what they did to get this improvement. Some of the changes occurred in Spotlight. Some were customizations.
- Cross exhibit search... "Find Items in All Exhibits". The results show items with facets for...
- Exhibit Category - This is the curated set of exhibit tags.
- Exhibit Title
- Date Range - limit which items are displayed based on a date field for the item. This is not an upload or mod date. This is a date metadata field for the item.
