CRCF service created to facilitate SFTP transfers to Nandini's iMac, initially from an off-campus-based cluster resource.

ChemIT expects to decommission this service now that the networks have been changed to obviate the need for this service.

Instructions

  • First -The faculty or group computing representative needs to send a request to crcf@cornell.edu to add new users to the group. Include both the name, and the Cornell NetID for users to add.

Once CRCF has added the users to the  group, connect as follows:

  • Within an SFTP client (e.g. FileZilla, on Mac or Windows), connect to transit.chem.cornell.edu.
  • Login is with Cornell NetID & NetID password. You will connect to a group folder, where anyone in the group can create a folder and place their files.
  • VPN is not required
  • Only SFTP is enabled. (Thus, for example, SSH terminal sessions are not enabled.)

NOTES: Cleanup of user files is manual. Users must delete their files after transferring their data to their local machine. Files on the system are not backed up.
