Rumiko Takahashi  

Born October 10, 1957, Rumiko Takahashi is one of the most famous manga artist in Japan and the best female selling comic artist in history. Although not initially interested in manga till after high school, she initially started with publishing doijinshi in 1975. She often includes aspects of fantasy, romance, folklore, and horror in her creations. Her first major work was Katte na Yatsura, published in 1978. She is most known for her works Urusei Yatsura and Inuyasha both of which she was awarded the Shogokukan Manga Award.
