Week 3: (9-15-2008 to 9-21-2008)

Tim suggests talking with Grupo Fenix rep
talked about glass breaking vs. parabolic cookers: we can work on both

broken glass: theory- why and under what conditions is glass breaking? how can we remedy?
experiments: measure oven behavior under those conditions, acquire any necessary equipment we don't have, test wood as well as glass
glass specs (expansion under heat) are fairly consistent and well-known

Ashley told up about what they did last year:
last year they worked on parabolics- finite element method did not work well, upgraded the lighting, upgraded box cookers to new design (based on our upgrades and Mujeres Solares upgrades)
last year, they just met in their groups of three, big meeting for classwork, presentations

Work Completed:
figured out who is presenting the power point- Aditi Kolhekar and Reshma Hooda
draw the solar oven
we're each making a slide

Work Planned:
group that wants to do glazing needs to get goals, procedure
group that wants to do parabolic needs to decide whether they want to do a dish or a trough, also get goals, procedure
