Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Yoruba (antigenic formula 16:c:l,w) is a serovar of the O:16 (I) serogroup. 

Animal reservoir: Serovar Yoruba has been found in primate (Callithrix jacchus), pig, and chicken.

Geographical distribution: Serovar Yoruba has been found in Brazil, Sweden, Colombia, and South Africa.

Outbreaks: No outbreaks have been associated with S. Yoruba.
