Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Telhashomer was found to have 7 virulence-associated genes and to lack all genes localised within bacteriophages and plasmids. 

Animal reservoir: Salmonella Telhashomer is rarely isolated from reptiles and toads.
