Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Sundsvall (antigenic formula  [1],6,14,[25]:z:e,n,x) is a serovar of the O:6,14 serogroup. Several produce samples, including Italian squash, baby spinach, tomato, cantaloupe, raw pecan, papaya, chili powder, and pumpkin seed have tested positive for S. Sundsvall

Animal reservoir: Serovar Sundsvall was found in cattle, pigs, caprine and venomous reptile.

Geographical distribution: Serovar Sundsvall has been found in UK, Germany, Pakistan, India, Africa, North and Central America.

Outbreaks: One outbreak in 2023 has been associated with S. Sundsvall. All clinical isolates belong to the same SNP cluster (PDS000165423.14).
