Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Liverpool (antigenic formula 1,3,19:d:e,n,z15) is a serovar of the O:1,3,19 (E4) serogroup. A dog food plant in Missouri tested positive for S. Liverpool. This serovar was also recovered from poultry processing equipment after completion of sanitization procedures.

Geographical distribution: Serovar Liverpool has been found in the U.S., and Europe.
Outbreaks: No outbreaks have been associated with S. Liverpool.
