Animal reservoir: Serovar IIIb 61:i:z53 is found in small pet turtles and their environments.

Geographical distribution: Serovar IIIb 61:i:z53 is found in the United States.

Outbreaks: Outbreaks have been associated with S. IIIb 61:i:z53.
