Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Duisburg (antigenic formula 1,4,12,27:d:1,7) is a serovar of the O:4 (b) serogroup.  

Animal reservoir: The animal reservoir for this serovar is not currently known.

Geographical distribution: S. Duisburg has been isolated from retail poultry deli meats in Poland before. 

Outbreaks: S. Duisburg has been associated with a multistate outbreak in Cashew Brie in the US.
