Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Bovismorbificans (antigenic formula 6,8,20:r[i,]:1,5) is a serovar of the O:8 serogroup. The prevalence of this serovar is generally low. For example, annually between three and fourteen cases of S. serovar Bovismorbificans occur in the Netherlands.

Animal reservoir: S. Bovismorbificans has been found in cattle and chicken. 

Geographical distribution: S. Bovismorbificans has been found in New Zealand, U.S., and Europe.
