Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Adjame (antigenic formula 13,23:r:1,6) is a serovar of the O:13(G) serogroup. The first clinical case of this serovar was reported in Cote d’Ivoire in 1967. A total of only 13 cases have been reported prior to 2016 in the UK.
Animal reservoir: Not known.
Geographical distribution: Serovar Adjame has been found in Africa, and the UK.
Outbreaks: Outbreaks have been associated with S. Adjame.
