• Be careful with course names and spaces. Course names MUST be exactly as they appear in the Course Roster. For example, AMST 2090 should be entered as AMST 2090. If it is entered as AM ST 2090 or AMST2090 the reserves for the course will not show up when searched via the Course Reserves search box on the CUL home page. Likewise ANTHR courses listed as ANTH will not display properly.
  • Cross-list courses in Ares. If a course is cross-listed in the Course Roster, it's better to cross-list it in Ares instead of putting all the cross-listed courses in the Name field. For example, ANTHR 4403 shows up in the Course Roster as "ANTHR 4403 Ethnographic Field Methods (also ANTHR 6403)". If this course is listed as "ANTHR 4403/6403: Ethnographic Field Methods" in Ares, patrons who search ANTHR 6403 in the Course Reserves search box on the CUL home page will not find the reserves for this course, although ANTHR 4403 will show up.
  • Cross-Listing:   Remember to add Course Names
When adding a cross-listing to a course, be sure to fill out both Course Number *and* the Course Name.  These fields show up in Course Help.  If the Course Name is left blank, only the Course Number will show up.  It can be helpful to students to see the title of the course, as some may not remember their Course Number.
