A

The main menu of the Z39.50 search window.

B

This area contains two tabs. The first tab, Searching, displays the list of items returned when a search is performed. The second tab, Record Detail, shows a text and formatted bib view of the record currently selected in the Searching tab.

C

This area contains two tabs. The Default Searches tab pulls a series of items from the current record open in the Edit/New Item window and displays them here. Clicking on any of the Search buttons preceding the item's field will format a z39 search for that item and submit it. The second tab, Custom Search, allows you to build a search, similar to the OPAC's Advance Search feature, where you can select the field you would like to search and enter criteria directly.

D

This area contains two tabs; the first, Ares Transaction, formats all the information given in the underlying Edit/New Item window into a easily readable format for comparison while you are performing a search. The second tab, Holdings, lists all the holding records attached to the item currently selected on the Searching tab. Selecting an item in the Holdings tab will automatically fill in the corresponding call number and location availability into the underlying Edit/New Item form.
