Please Note: If this is your first time logging into the on-line system you will need to be cleared before you may add items to reserves. Please contact your local reserves department or _cul_reserve@cornell.edu_ (mailto:?To=cul_reserve@cornell.edu&subject=Request%20for%20Instructor%20Access&Body=Please%20provide%20me%20with%20instructor%20access%20to%20the%20CUL%20Reserves%20web%20interface.) to speed up this process.

After you have successfully entered your NetID and password you will be taken to the main menu of the Reserves System, Figure 23.2.
The main window is divided into four sections.

...

A

is the site banner; located on the far right is a search box. This search box will allow you to search the entire course list to which you currently have access. The search can be for either a keyword in the title, citation, description of an item, or a tag that has been assigned to an item.

B

This is the main menu pane. All the items listed on the main page of the Reserves site will always be listed. As you progress through the system other sub menus related to the task will be added.

Logoff

will log you out of the reserves system and take you back to the Cornell University Library website.

Switch To Student Mode

will allow you to temporarily switch over to a view of the site students will see. This is helpful to test the way items are displayed, or to make sure items that you may want to have hidden are not displayed.

Instructor Tools

are a set of tools used to add, remove and maintain your courses. You can create a new course, copy over an old course for a new semester, add items to a course or give permission to someone to manage a course for you.

Ares Tools

allow you to change your personal information and see past e-mails that have been sent to you by the reserves staff.

C

is the main section of the web page with a list of classes you are currently managing. For each item a Course Number, Section Number, Course Name, and Item Status is given.

D

is a small notification area which appears if there are items that you indicated to us, the Reserves staff, you will provide to the library. Once the items are received and processed this pane will go away.
