1. If the Edit/New Class window is not already open, please do so by:
    1. Select from the main menu Edit and then Class.
    2. The Search Class dialog will open.
    3. Enter some search criteria for the class you wish to find, and click on Search.
    4. Classes matching the criteria you entered will be displayed in the table view at the bottom half of the window.
    5. Double click on the class to which you wish to add items; this will open the Edit/New Class window.
  2. On the Edit/New Class window select the Class Items tab. This will display all the items that have been requested for this class.
  3. On the main menu click on the Add Items button; this will open the Item window.
  4. If the item is a CUL item the easiest way to add the initial information is by using the Z39.50 search.
    1. In the General Information section of the window click on Search Z39.50.
    2. In the bottom of the Ares Z39.50 Search Form there are several text fields for making different types of searches against the Voyager system.
      1. Place the title of the item in the field labeled Title.
      2. Click the Search button at the end of that field.
      3. The system will search Voyager remotely and pull a list of items held by CUL.
    3. Clicking on items in the main pane will load the related holding records in the lower half of the window.
    4. In the Holdings tab click on the item you would like to place on reserve. The location, availability and call number will be copied over to the Item window automatically.
    5. Using the Z39.50 macro, CTRL+F1, copy over the title, author, and other information to the Item window.
  5. In the Item window enter all appropriate fields.
  6. Click on the Save button located on the main menu. This will add the record to the system and place it in the Awaiting Request Processing queue.
  7. If you wish you may at this time also redirect the request to Find On Shelf to be pulled, or upload/scan an item to be linked to the citation.

Alternate Method: You may use the Z39.50 Macro with the CUL catalog, if this is more comfortable for you.
