2CUL TSI E-Resources Working Group 6/25/2013.

Bill Kara, Joyce McDonough, Jesse Koennecke (Rebecca Utz, recorder)

Staff time dedicated to Electronic Resources:

Bill has been interviewing staff from outside of the ER unit about the amount of their workday dedicated to E-Resources (Batch loading, PDA).  Also, at least two people in the unit do work other than e-resources, for example, generating reports for various projects.

- Bill will post the results.

360 manager (the Serials Solutions ERM product):

Cornell will add Science Direct and Wiley accounts in 360 for the trial, and would like the trial to go on through the NERL renewal process.  The COUNTER stats are not showing up in the trial yet.  There is no set end date for our current trial.

There will likely be a cost associated with testing consorital use of 360, in the meantime we could see each other’s data by sharing logins.

-Jesse will keep investigating the trial for a consortial view.

-Bill will see what type of request we need to send through for funding.

Knowledgebase:

-Jesse will talk to Adam about the Licensed Electronic Resources Interface Working Group’s charge for the new knowledgebase.

Some things that need to be considered during this process are:

  • What is the source of the data for the Ex Libris knowledgebase- how current is the data?
  • Where are they getting the data from?
  • How long does it take to load the data?
  • How long after Alma’s knowledgebase has been updated would our knowledgebase be updated?

Serials accounts for E and Print:
