Notes from JSMIN meeting, July 10, 2014

Attending: Adam,  Jesse, Jim, Joyce, Kate, Mark, Naun, Robert, Sarah

1. JSMIN discussed the agenda for quarterly “2CUL Phase 2” meeting with working group leads on 7/15 including consideration of questions such as: how to maintain momentum through the change of direction (or “pivot”) for TSI? is the current working group structure still appropriate? what is the structure that will best encourage work on new and ongoing initiatives? What guidance is needed from JSMIN? Have we lost leverage especially in working with outside groups?

2, We discussed Adam's white paper and were in agreement that it should be resubmitted to the Negotiating Team with a cover memo which is being prepared.  It will note that while not everyone on JSMIN is in agreement with every point, JSMIN does agree that interoperability among all system components is a fundamental requirement for technical services -- especially for e-resources acquisition, management and discovery -- and that enough time has gone by that a new environmental scan is necessary. Kuali Ole for example has been developed since the last scan was done.
