Present: Jim, Kate, Adam, Sarah, Colleen, Robert, Mark, Joyce

  1. Joyce, Jesse, Kizer and Jeff will discuss guidelines on negotiating vendors on packages.  This to-do needs input from Collection Development to proceed.
  2. Intota training is scheduled for Sept 23-25 and will be paid out of Mellon travel money. It will be held at Columbia.
  3. We did a round robin to candidly share our thoughts on transition plans for mainstreaming TSI once the grant ends.  The consensus is that not much will change.
  4. Points to take forward to the 2CUL Steering Committee (meeting Sept. 28 in Ithaca) include:
  • JSMIN continues to value the natural, productive and intellectual engagement that has developed in this group and several of the functional teams.
  • A wider group of colleagues for consultation is of great value and is worth continuing.
  • The Intota training/implementation will create more similar workflows and increase opportunity for collaboration.
  • CJK staff want to continue collaboration in areas such as Korean duplicates and refining the Chinese purchasing plan through informal communication.
  • If the new automation librarian in MPS is hired, there may be increased opportunities for sharing expertise in batch processes.
  • Robert plans to continue his role as Cornell's CONSER representative.
  • POOF! development will continue as an initiative.
  • Non MARC Metadata and E-resources plan to continue to meet and share information and best practices. New hires in those areas will be brought on board.
  • The teams will be put on hiatus rather than disbanded.
  • JSMIN will meet less frequently but we hope to have a modest budget for travel at least for 2016.
  • JSMIN will explore the role of 2CUL TSI in broader collaborative initiatives.
