1. Review of Phase 2 elements in the Print Serials Working Group charge.

Phase 2 elements reviewed with Alan and Deb; Kate will continue to be the liaison; membership can be expanded; Alma will not go live until 2016. Phase 2 # 4 is most likely the area to begin concentrating on.

Questions/Comments from Alan Schaplowsky (Columbia -- Chair), Deb Warfield (Cornell):

There are many differences between Cornell/Columbia in the area of P+E orders, claiming and problem solving and check-in. Columbia has a separate process at Starr. Columbia has 13 different units for check-in and claiming. Biggest Difference, Columbia – print-only staff, Cornell – no format split. Binding – Columbia print serials involved; Cornell – located in Access Services. Question: Since print is slowing down, how much effort should this Working Group put into Phase 2? It was decided that shared Claiming would only make sense if internal records are accurate enough.

Kate reminded the Working Group that some things may have to stay local. And that the JSMIN group can help with work that crosses departments, purchasing software
