2CUL TSI SG July 8, 2013

Attending: Kate, Colleen, Robert, Boaz, Adam & Jim

1. Between the lines of the notes from the TSI Admin Team meeting

Discussion of what is meant by “middle-out” approach. Is this how we should we be describing 2CUL TSI to others at ALA, etc. Should this language be included in updates/correspondence from TSI? Is the assessment of cultural integration going to be middle-out or top down? It seems like it will be coming from the Admin team (top-down); but the idea is that the draft survey will come through TSI for review. Various assessments will be taking place. Cornell will be doing ClimateQUAL in the fall. Pages 9-11 of the Mellon Grant (also pages 3-4 of the TSI Project Description) have language about organizational assessment.

Action item: At next week’s meeting TSI will further discuss cultural assessment and 2CUL culture.

2.TSI Phase 1: reflections on progress, updates from working group liaisons, what we anticipate in the Phase 1 reports

Action item:

Colleen will update Jesse on his request to move the Troubleshooting Team, phase 2 report deadline to September.

Jim will draft a new phase 1 report reminder email to Chairs/Leads and he will include wording about dependencies and our middle-out approach.

3. News from ALA?
Jim mentioned there was an informal ExLibris meeting at ALA annual. Discussion – should we ask phase 1 reports to reflect one shared system (Alma) or both the possibility of Voyager or Alma?

4.Conference call with MIT regarding their reorg (“functional” to “workflow-based”) – which we now have scheduled for our usual meeting time on Monday July 29
