Description

We are requesting a three-part domain name as an exception for

cloudcomputing.cornell.edu and www.cloudcomputing.cornell.edu.

This site, which is coordinated by Faculty in the Department of Computer, will serve as a hub for cloud computing research at CU. It will primarily be a communication tool to connect prospective students to research projects and to facilitate collaboration among the faculty working in this multi-disciplinary research area. Our initial stakeholder partners come from Computer Science, Sociology, Applied Economics and Management, and Electrical and Computer Engineering. We have an inclusive vision for the site to evolve and to link to additional cloud computing projects at CU and to form reciprocal links outside of Cornell such as with Berkeley. The three-part domain name will be essential to get buy in from faculty and programs outside the Computer Science Department where the site is hosted and to reach prospective students with a broad array of interests in this area.
