Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Kisarawe (antigenic formula 11:k:e,n,x,[z15] ) is a serovar of the O:11 (F) serogroup. S. Kisarawe is a very rare serovar; it appears to be associated with reptiles.

Animal reservoir: reptiles

Geographical distribution: S. Kisarawe was reported in India; however, there is not current evidence of its distribution.

Outbreaks: One outbreak linked with contact with bearded dragons was reported in the US, in this outbreak serovar Cothan was also involved
