Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Amsterdam (antigenic formula 3,{10}{15}{15,34}:g,m,s:–) is a serovar of the O:3,10 (E1) serogroup. 

Animal reservoir: Serovar Amsterdam is found in rats.

Geographical distribution: Serovar Amsterdam has been found in Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden

Outbreaks: Outbreaks of S. Amsterdam have been reported.
