CUSD:SRF Join to Help Create the NYC Tech Campus, New Sustainable Bldgs at Cornell Ithaca, and New Green Building & Product Metrics all to Make a Real Difference
In an effort involving students from nearly every College at Cornell, Cornell University Sustainable Design : Sustainability Research Facility (CUSD:SRF) is a Cornell student project team that is the creative force behind a number of sustainability projects that you could be a part of including:
• Designing aspects of the NYC Tech Campus including investigating its Wind and Geothermal Power options and working with US Green Building Council (USGBC) connections to make the Tech Campus the beta for LEED ND 4.0 (Sustainable Neighborhood Certification)
• Creating a new Cornell Outdoor Education building on Beebe Lake as the newest hub of student outdoor activities including Cornell Outing Club, Friends of the Georges, and the making the building one of the Cornell's new "Destinations" as a portal to the Plantations
• Evaluate the entire Cornell Campus for the purposes of Solar Technology Renovations
• Investigate new green building metric systems like the USGBC LEED program in a new metric design project that is aiming to work with the Atkinson Center for a Sustainable Future
• Develop a new green products metric with Green Builder Magazine with the potential to have your work showcased at the VISION House in EPCOT Center, Walt Disney World.
Come to our information sessions listed below to learn more about these projects and other CUSD projects like the CUSD Farm Pond project creating a housing development in the local Ithaca Community and CUSD Consults who is working with local businesses to make them green. Students from ALL MAJORS WELCOME.
Course Credit and/or M-Eng Project credit are available.
