Tthe websites and database on TCAP machines are essential because of their use by many of the plant breeders across the country. In event of a government shutdown these functions will have to be transferred to another machine. I will maintain a backup of the database and code for wheat and barley on my desktop machine. Then if a shutdown occurs we can setup another website for public use. This other website would be either a machine at Cornell University, iPlant, or Amazon Web Services.

SOP
The website and database are essential on the machine tcap.pw.usda.gov (http://triticeaetoolbox.org/). This machine is located at the USDA offices in Albany, CA.
During a government shutdown I will need to
1. Verify that we have a recent copy of the website code and database at an off site computer.
2. Load a new website with the latest backup and verify that it is working correctly.
3. Notify Dave Matthews to change the DNS record for the website to point to the new location
4. After the machine has been setup it will require only minimal attention. (monitoring email and daily check logs).
