Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Westhampton (antigenic formula 3,10,15,34:g,s,t:--) is a serovar of the O:3,10 (E1) serogroup. S. Westhampton is a rare serovar in the US. In Europe, a report of cephalosporin resistant strains isolated from living cockles was conducted in 2004; the strains harbored a plasmid that encoded CTX-M beta-lactamases. S. Westhampton has been found in dried coconut from Indonesia in 2003 and in 2014.
