9.2.2.1 Scan at a later time
1. From the main Ares main window select Fulfillment, Batch Processing and then Scan
Items Later.
2. Selecting this option will open a dialog box so that you can quickly process all the items
to be scanned at a later time, figure 9.10.

3. On each pull slip there is an Ares ID barcode. Using a barcode scanner scan each of
the sheet's barcodes into the system. If the scanner is configured properly a Enter or
Carriage Return will be placed at the end of each successful scan, this will submit the
barcode to Ares and mark the item as Awaiting Scanning. Alternately you can type in
each ID by hand hitting Enter at the end of each ID submitting it to the system.
4. To finish processing these requests is is necessary to open the Awaiting Scanning queue
and process the items individual. Please follow the step in chapter 10 on page 65.
9.2.2.2 Scan items right away
1. From the Ares Main Menu select Fulfillment and then Update Stacks Searching Re-
sults. This will open the Update Stacks Search checking screen as described in chap-
ter 6 on page 35.

2. Using your locations preferred scanning method scan the document and create a PDF
document.
3. From the Update Stacks Search select the item you wish to upload.
4. From the main menu select Scan item now,
.5. On the Upload Reserve File main menu select Import File,
6. The Upload File dialog will open, figure 9.11. Clicking on the ... button at the end of
the text field will open a browser window to select a local file to be uploaded.
7. Once the location of the file has been entered click on Upload to place the file on the
server.
8. Once the document has finished uploading the request will automatically be moved to
the Item Available On Electronic Reserves queue.
