Accomplishments

• Clogged the flow controller again, or actually we clogged the tube that leaves the flow controller.
• This week we also got a solid precipitation mass of precipitated calcium carbonate by using as smaller volume of solution, but at the same concentration.

Metrics

• Take apart flow controller and determine if it appears that calcium carbonate that is accumulating was precipitated out in the holding tank or is it falling out of solution when it hits the float valve.
• Run settled and filtered calcium hypochlorite solution through float valve for the purpose of trying to determine if precipitation of calcium carbonate will continue to happen after settling and filtering.

Outcomes

• We have now clogged the line leaving the flow controller twice, not the actual float valve port.

Issues

• We have so far been unable to clog the float valve, only the tube that is leaving the flow controller.
• This results in us wondering if the clogging in Honduras is always in the float valve oriface or is it in the tubes on the way or out of the flow controller as well?
