The KVRF project will set up,

• mappings from the PICTOR data base used by the KVRF to index/inventory slides,
• processes for the automatic update of Luna Insight based on PICTOR data updates.
  Based on discussions at the 20060110 meeting, it seems like metadata will be automatically
  extracted from the PICTOR database, while image updates will be manual using
  LunaAdmin/LunaStudio.
• access points for the data consistent with PICTOR access methods.
• metrics for quality control, and traceability.

Initial requirements:

1. 2-3 updates per week.
2. Minimal involvement of middle people. Procedure should be very turnkey, requiring little detailed knowledge of VRA, XML, Oracle, or LunaInsight.

Questions (among many):

1. Number of updates per week suggests that the production/test divide will not work for us. Perhaps we simply make sure to keep several backups of the database, in case of trouble.
2. Number of images in an "update?".
3. Procedure for corrections.
