Filtering Data to Obtain Specific Counts for the Annual Data Collection

JOURNALS - UNIQUE ITEM REQUESTS

Filter in dashboard or Excel files to:

• Access Type: (no change needed; includes both ‘Controlled’ and ‘OA-Gold’)
• Access Method: Select ‘Regular’ only
• Metric Type: Select ‘Unique Item Requests’
• Resource Type: Select ‘Journals’ only
• (For the annual data collection, counts for packages managed by WCM are added; contact A&P for more info)

EBOOKS - UNIQUE TITLE REQUESTS

Filter in dashboard or Excel files to:

• Access Type: (no change needed; includes both ‘Controlled’ and ‘OA-Gold’)
• Access Method: Select ‘Regular’ only
• Metric Type: Select ‘Unique Title Requests’
• Resource Type: Select ‘Books’ only
• (For the annual data collection, counts for packages managed by WCM are added; contact A&P for more info)

Inclusions / Exclusions in the Dashboard

Includes usage for the platforms that CUL requests that EBSCO Consolidated track.  Data are from EBSCO Consolidation's Title Usage Reports, and only include data available in COUNTER R4 or R5-like format. Excludes the use for: most packages managed by WCM; media packages (Consolidated does not pull); most fully-OA packages.  The metric type ‘Unique Title Requests’ is intended for books only. Many ebook providers are not R4 or R5 compliant.

Per EBSCO, its Consolidated's Title Usage Reports are most like COUNTER's main title reports. However, they use the 'resource type' set by EBSCO's Global Knowledge Base instead of what is reported in the COUNTER reports.
