CULearn is a learning management system for a variety of non-credit training across campus.

Courses include training provided by several departments including the Cornell NanoScale Facility. CNF Users can sign up for instructor led trainings and can take web-based online courses.

CNF Trainings via CULearn

An overview of current CNF CULearn offered trainings can be found at the CNF Training website: http://training.cnfusers.cornell.edu  . Separate direct course links exist for each of Cornell NetID and Cornell GuestID users.

Can't See CNF Trainings in CULearn?

Most CNF courses are only visible to current CNF users. If you cannot see or access a CNF offered course after signing into CULearn, please contact the CNF User Program, userprogram@cnf.cornell.edu , to verify your current CNF user status. The User Program will interface with CNF Computing to make sure you can sign up for any needed trainings.

Cornell NetID Access

Almost anyone with a NetID should either click the "Cornell NetID Users" button on the main CULearn page at https://culearn.cornell.edu or use one of the direct course links from http://training.cnfusers.cornell.edu or other parts of the Cornell web space. Cornell NetID users will be prompted to login with CUWebLogin.

Users with a NetID only for the Daily Check application will also have a Cornell GuestID and should use the Cornell GuestID instructions below to access CULearn.

Alums, Former Postdocs, and Sponsored NetIDs

If you are no longer a current faculty, staff, or student at Cornell, CNF Computing will need to request reactivation of your Cornell NetID in CULearn. This will normally be done as part of your onboarding to CNF. Reactivated NetIDs may expire in CULearn after six months. Contact CNF Computing to request your netid again reactivated in CULearn for another six months.

Cornell GuestID Access

When onboarding at the CNF, your GuestID will be added to the CULearn system. While most other non-NetID users use their email addresses to signin to CULearn, you will instead use your Cornell GuestID. Your CULearn GuestID password is NOT synchronized with your regular GuestID password. Your CULearn user profile email address is NOT synchronized with your CORAL email address. When provisioned in CULearn, your information as it appears in CORAL at that time will be uploaded into CULearn.

GuestIDs in CULearn will be inactivated after six months. To take additional trainings, please contact CNF Computing to have your CULearn GuestID reactivated for an additional six months.

First time GuestID Login

Before you can login for the first time, you must reset your CULearn password. From the main CULearn login page, click the "Forgot Password" link. When prompted for your "Email ID" instead enter your Cornell GuestID. A new password will then be emailed to the email address for you in the CULearn system.

Signing In After your first GuestID Login

You may either use the direct course links or browse/search for the courses via CULearn. Separate direct course links exist for each of NetIDs and GuestIDs.

For GuestIDs to login to CULearn via the CULearn main page, go to the CULearn main page at https://culearn.cornell.edu . Then click the "All Other Users" button and login with your GuestID and CULearn password.

GuestIDs in CULearn will be inactivated after six months. To take additional trainings, please contact CNF Computing to have your CULearn GuestID reactivated for an additional six months.

Forgotten CULearn GuestID Passwords

CULearn GuestID passwords are NOT synchrnoized with or from the main Cornell GuestID system. If you forget your CULearn GuestID password, from the main CULearn login page, click the "Forgot Password" link. When prompted for your "Email ID" instead enter your Cornell GuestID. A new password will then be emailed to the email address for you in the CULearn system.

GuestID Account Expiration

GuestID logins to CULearn will expire after six months total time. If you need to re-login to CULearn, please contact CNF Computing to have your CULearn account reactivated for another six months.
