Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Oslo (antigenic formula 6,7,14:a:e,n,x) is a serovar of the serogroup O:7 (C1). Strains in this group can be lysogenized by phage 14 (O:6,7 ––> O:6,7,14, former group C4). The Oslo serotype is rare with about 25 cases reported each year in the US.
Animal reservoir: Serovar Oslo was found in squid.
Geographical distribution: Serovar Oslo has been found in India, and US.
