Charge, etc:

• Develop "charge" of group** A forum for communication and discussion about issues related to digital visual resources on campus, both licensed and Cornell-built collections** Keeping abreast of metadata conventions/development in visual resource arena** Develop policies regarding passwords, public support, collection development, reference referrals
  • Developing project workflows 
  • Host biannual forums regarding trends and developments in vr both on campus and nationally
  • Looking towards the future of vr, including multi-media objects, different delivery methods (flickr, etc), mobile/hand-held devices
  • Strategic parnterships with other constituents on campus who are developing similar resources
  • Outreach/promotion of collections
  • Prioritize objectives, document yearly accomplishments, reassess as needed
• reporting structure/budget?--allow for evolution of group, meanwhile have oya/janet kick in funds... if they are willing.
• expand membership to include 2 rotating people in addition to stakeholder representatives
• nominate co-chair- Kaila!

•  Other items:
• Maps Project Update- Mira working with Surinder to set-up collection
• KVRF update- load in early-mid November
• ARTstor- quarterly loads starting- not to be announced widely
• Upgrade Luna to 6.23 on test server- form small test group (agenda item next time)
• ARTStor Migration plan (Will discuss next time)
• ARTstor shared shelf plan- invite Dean to discuss (Glen will approach Dean about this)
• Listservs- eliminate lunasupport (Liz remove from website)
• Image blog- start from scratch  (blog feed into VR pages- need technical support from Matt/Adam)
• Reference & Outreach November 10 session ** Maike, Kaila, and Danielle will draft CUlib announcement reflecting session** will cover new Luna & collections, new VR pages, VRWG committee, VR help, membership

Agenda:

    Review charge:

    Need to formalize the group.  Martha will discuss with Janet; Danielle with Oya.  Charge should be revised and all agree should include the following:

           Promotion

           Public Services/Technical/Stakeholder communication

           Subgroups to accomplish specific tasks, such as Luna 6.0 upgrade
  
    Luna 6.0 upgrade & testing group - plan to complete by early August

           Meet in early July to test collections

           Liz will begin reviewing categories to make recommendations for specific collections; will also inquire about adding to Luna Commons

           Kaila (& Maike) will begin to develop new user guides for Luna 6.0

           Danielle will work with Adam Smith on webfeat intersection

           Mira will look into group functionality, especially with Andean Collection

    Find Images - overhaul

           Two phases: phase one:  Glen will review site for broken links and outdated information;  phase two: include new user guides, potentially move to

           Drupal for longer-term maintenance. 

    Map database- funded- stay tuned for group meeting (set by Danielle)

    General updates, especially in light of KVRF closing
